Querencia Los Cabos Case Timeline: From a Golf Cart Crash to Hearings Before a Judge

This timeline follows, date by date, a case that began with a crash at Querencia Los Cabos, in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico. On March 25, 2025, on Boulevard Querencia, a golf cart was struck from behind by a RAM 700 truck bearing Querencia markings. A 5-year-old girl riding in the cart was thrown out. The Baja California Sur state attorney general's office (Procuraduría General de Justicia del Estado de Baja California Sur) opened an investigation file (carpeta de investigación). Its prosecutors, the state Public Prosecutor's Office (Ministerio Público), investigate crimes and bring charges before a judge. They took the matter to a pretrial judge (Juez de Control) in Los Cabos, who oversees the investigation stage.

From investigation to criminal case

Prosecutors opened the investigation file for four offenses: unintentional bodily injury, failure to render aid (omisión de auxilio), property damage and failure to file a medical report (omisión de informe médico). Those four offenses are the reason the file was opened; see why an investigation was opened.

On July 15, 2026, prosecutors asked the judge to hold a hearing to formally charge three parties. Court records show that the request for a charging hearing is part of a criminal case before a pretrial judge in Los Cabos.

On July 16, 2026, the judge set that hearing for August 26, 2026. From that date on, the story continues with what happened before the pretrial judge.
